Early Concepts

The first sketches for the logo used the brand’s initials, a mountain range, & a banner in most of the ideas. During this stage, I draw as many quick thumbnails as I can to get ideas flowing.

Refining Thumbnails

After I have selected a handful of ideas from my sketchbook, I use procreate to easily draw them out in more detail. This allows me to copy & paste, or undo different elements as I work. I also used procreate to sketch out some initial planning for the packaging.

Thumbnails to Vectors

Once I have compounded a solid number of refined thumbnails, I select a handful to vector. Above to the right, you can see the vectored versions with slight variations to the left and right. The circled logo depicted above was chosen for final revisions.

The final logo uses a heavy stroke and Le Havre for the name. The mountain range, banner and sky scene are simplified enough to make a one color version understandable.

With a finalized logo, I needed to consider packaging for this project. I wanted an illustrated outdoorsy feel, and went with a sketched version of Colorado foliage.

Final Soap Box Layout

The final soap box has two layers of recycled paper, an inner box, and an outer sleeve with a cut out window for the logo. Earlier concepts used honey combs for this scent, but ultimately changed to a uniform pattern with varying color schemes.
