Creating the Basic Layout
I wanted the post to be somewhat symmetrical with a radial focal point. The Hoodzpah Logo was going to be in the center of the page with all other elements radiating outwards. In the end, the logo was used as an overlay in the background to create movement, and the two girls became the focal point.
Illustration
I wanted to create an illustration of the sisters in a similar style to their work on Lindsey Vonn’s Red Bull zine spread. I used procreate and some reference images from the team’s Instagram page to illustrate the pair. Click below to see the work that inspired me.
I went through a variety of textures, backgrounds, typefaces and color schemes before settling on tan, pink & black with a rounded grotesque san serif. The background became a simplified version of their logo so that the radial movement from the initial planning stage was incorporated.
For this project I was required to make an Instagram post & story; Facebook banner, & Eventbrite banner for the school to use to promote these guest speakers.
